With reference to your letter of the 18th March 1912

No.8687/12, we desire to call your attention to the fact,

that in accordance with our previous practice, we have been

registering in Japan, in the name of British-American Tobacco

Commany, Limited, marks of British Cigarette Company,

Limited, as we have always understood that it is impossible |

to register in Japan, the marks of a Hongkong Corporation

in the name of the owners. There is a registration in Japan

of a word and device called "Home" registered under No.11210

and a label of that mark No.51201. Recently we registered

the "Two Pigeons" label of British Cigarette Company, in

Janan, in the name of British-American Tobacco Company,
